Description

One of many routes to access the East Fork Carson River Hot Springs from the Nevada side, off of US395, by the China Springs entrance. The route takes you down into Leviathan Canyon and parallels the river to the springs. This place can get crowded, so if you want some peace and quite, go on a weekday! You'll drive through some tight spots, so be prepared for that. Many websites say this trail is a lot harder than it really is. When you get to the "Creek Crossing" waypoint, make an immediate right turn into the water and just drive through the trees. It looks like you wouldn't want to go through it, but it's the correct way! Tons of great camping spots along this route.

Trail Recommendations / Other Info

You will need a bit of clearance, but no lockers or huge tires necessary. If you're going to cross the river at the end, gauge the water level first. Different times of year require different levels of clearance.
